What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a powerful and effective tool to create lifestyle changes.   It is a means of communication and connection creating harmony between the mind and body.  A professionally trained Hypnotherapist uses therapeutic techniques to create a suggestible state to assist you as you release old, negative habits and fears that keep you from reaching your desired goals.  This state of hyper awareness allows us to guide a change in thought or feeling through the subconscious mind, and ultimately transforms a habit or behavior in our waking state to achieve a healthier life aligned with your goals.
Hypnosis is natural and safe.  Most people describe it as a very pleasant relaxed state of being.  We all go in and out of hypnosis several times daily.  Have you ever seen a great movie or been so immersed in a wonderful book that it seemed like time stood still?  Or, what about the time you were driving down the freeway on “automatic pilot” and missed the exit to work?  Before you enter unconscious sleep each night, you enter a hypnotic state of being very calm, relaxed, but totally aware and within yourself. These are all forms of Hypnosis.
In most of our waking hours, our mind uses reasoning, logic, and will power to consciously reason, evaluate, judge, and make decisions. However, when making life changes, logic and reason alone are sometimes insufficient.
When hypnosis takes place, both the conscious and subconscious minds are present.  You will be aware of everything that happens.  Hypnosis is somewhere in between sleep and wakefulness.  During hypnosis the evaluating, critical filter part of the mind is bypassed and deeper levels in the subconscious are accessed.  It is a proven method for creating positive change, especially for (i.e., smoking cessation).  It is so natural that many do not realize when they are in hypnosis because they are so completely aware of everything happening.
Sometimes, I think they expected it was some type of magic…it’s not.  It’s very natural and enables you to achieve the goals and changes you want to make through very effective therapy.  Many top athletes use hypnosis to play their best game consistently.  It is a proven method to facilitate change.  My part as your guide is to create strategies for change and reinforce them in hypnosis.
Hypnosis is a hypersensitive state that allows you to accept the suggestions I will be giving you based on what issues you desire to change within yourself.  Hypnosis is not actually sleep, but rather a feeling that is relaxing and energizing as though you have had a restful nap.  Whatever your experience, it is just right for you.
Everyone is capable of entering the hypnotic state if desired.  I will always ask your permission before guiding you into the hypnotic state.
You will never be out of control and can awaken to total consciousness at any time, if you feel the need.  You will never do anything you do not want to do.
The demands of daily life impact our stress levels and affect physical and emotional peace and harmony.   High stress can result in illness, eating disorders, insomnia, emotional instability, career burn-out, insomnia, bad eating and poor life choices.  Hypnotherapy is a holistic approach that is clinically proven to improve the mind-body connection for stress management, behavior modification and to optimize healthy lifestyles.  Many people experience a sensation of deep relaxation and relief through hypnosis.
Create change from the inside out.
